Hi everyone! My name is Paulina Puentes and I have 19 years old. Actually, I am a student of Economics with emphasis on Science Politics. My hobbies are hanging out with my friends, spending time with my family and talk with my best friends of exchange. I love dance and cook sugar things like pie´s, cakes, macaroons and crepes. I like to travel around the world. I love so much eat French, Italian and Swiss food.

Two years ago, I have begun the first adventure in my life. I became an exchange student in France, I went there without knowing anything about the country, the language, the environment, anything... But in that year, I found many beautiful things, like a new life, a new family, new friends and i discovered many amazing and wonderful places too. Here, you will find my top 4 of the best cities in Europe.

I will begin with my host city. I lived one year in Nice Cote D´azur, this city is located on the coast of the French Riviera. This city is awesome and magnificient because it has a special spirit, there, the citizens called the english-french spirit that seduces you. Nice has an amazing view of the Mediterranean sea and Corsica Island, where Napoleon Bonaparte was born. In Nice, I saw the first beach with rocks and a mixture of colors in the sea, it is just lovely.
Nice has a amazing small town called "Le Vielle Nice". This little town has a wonderful little street and it is like a maze with the little shops where sell food, flowers, fish, crafts and all you can imagine. The most cities in France has castles and Nice is not the exception, if you are in Le Vielle Nice, you will arrive at the castle and the view it`s incredible. Nice has an statue of a man "Apolo" naked and around him four men riding horses, it`s called "La Fontaine du Soleil". The Apolo`s face is in the direction to the big avenue "Jean Medecin" and here you can find a lot of cloth stores.

All the people know that the French Cuisine is the best of the world. I tried the typical food of Nice called SOCCA NIÇOISE, it is made with chickpea flour... i know it`s no sounds good, but believed me, it is so delicious and addicted. The most things I tried were fried.

Like I said before, I love the sugar, so I can`t resist to the temptations there because in every corner of this city you found a "Boulangerie", in English is the bakery. I tried the macaroons and "Quatre-Quatre au Pommes", "Fondant au Chocolat" and the famous "Pain au Chocolat", that is bread with chocolate inside.

The second place is Rome. Rome has an incredible vibe and it is a romantic and historic place. This city has so many things to do and one of those things is "The Vatican" where you will find the most beautiful church in all the world, it is called the Sistine Chapel, it has a beautiful fresco painted by the great Miguel Angel, it is the most impressive and divine that I have seen. You can go to the Roman Coliseum or Trevi Fontaine or just go to the Pantheon. Here you will find the best pizza, pasta and ice creams in the world and it is not expensive. While in Rome, the subway is not the best way of transportation but to go to the famous monuments it is very practice.

The third place is Pompeii. This an ancient city is incredible and it`s located nearly to Napoles on the Italian coast. It has a mysterious and weirdly spirit. I loved this city because if you know the history when the Vesubian volcano exploded, Pompeii and the citizens were covered by ash. Everything is intact from the paintings, the distribution of the houses, the flats, the ceilings even the kitchens and the bakery's oven. While you walk into the ruins, you can see on the roads the ancient commercials or the bakery even the marketplace and squares.

Something that impacts me a lot were seeing the bodies of some people that was covered by the ash, but when you look closely to the face of the body, you can feel the same fear and despair include the pain that they felt, that moment was a scary and awkard moment. It has so much history and I loved that. There is one restaurant there and some craft stores. The citizens are so wonderful and lovely.

The fourth city is Athene, the capital of Greece. This amazing place is another that I love so much because all the history that have behind the ruins and the monuments. When I was in 10th grade, I had a subject called History of Art and I studied all the history and sense of every monument, and that caught me completely. The most knowing monument is the Acropolis, it was habited since the pre-history. It was built to adore Atenea and other Gods. It is a big one building in the middle of the mountain and around him are other temples to adore Atenea, but there is one important, The Parthenon, it is so beautiful and unbelievable, the way to build the columns, every one is different with originals designs that make more difficult the construction.

The typical food is Gyro, it consists in grill the meat and then cut in the little pieces to introduce in a crepe with salad or legumes, it`s like Shawarma in Turkey or Taco in Mexico. The dessert is the Greece yogurth with honey and almonds, it`s so delicious and fitness food.
